He Beat the Traffic Ticket

Bill beat the Traffic Ticket. It got reduced to a non traffic violation and a $40.00 fine. He never got any points against his license so that is good.

If he was found guilty of the speeding ticket he would have received 4 points against his license. Speeding (11-20 MPH over posted limit): 4 points

"Insurance companies can increase your premiums based on your driving record. They check your record when they renew your  policy, and sometimes all it takes is one speeding ticket to send your rates through the roof."

I asked Bill why he took the plea agreement and he said he just wanted to get it over.

I believe he just got scared by being in court. They offered him a plea agreement for a non traffic offense and he took it.

That makes me believe the Prosecutor knew he was beat and wanted to make Bill believe the plea agreement was the best he could do. Being the good guy he is...

I wish Bill would have pleaded NOT GUILTY and went all the way with it to see what happened but it was not me in court so I sort of understand.
